As our Library Officer Children & Families, you'll use your library experience to deliver friendly, helpful service and create a welcoming, community-focused space. Working with the Coordinator Library Services, you'll help plan, deliver and promote programs and events for children and families, while supporting literacy and learning opportunities that are easy to access and relevant to the community.
In this role you will have the following accountabilities:

- Develop, deliver and evaluate library programs, events and outreach activities for children and families, including:

* Regular weekly children's programs, such as Storytime and Rhymetime.
* Targeted Children and Families literacy programs
* School holiday programs

- Establish and maintain partnerships with schools, early learning centres, community groups, local organisations and other relevant service providers to support engagement with children and families.
- Attend community events including networking with community groups,



schools and not for profit service and support agencies relating to Children and Families.
- Provide customer service, front counter support and assistance with daily library operations, including the library management and Mobile Library services.
- Support grant applications, purchasing processes and other administrative requirements as needed.

Our preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:

- Experience developing and delivering children and family programs or events in a library setting
- Demonstrated understanding of early literacy and school-aged literacy, and the role libraries play in supporting children's learning and development.
- High level interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level communication skills both oral and written
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively to achieve strategic outcomes
