About the role
Al-Ameen College is seeking a committed, highly professional, and technically sound IT Technician to join our IT Department on a full-time basis.
Technology plays an essential role in the educational and operational environment of Al-Ameen College.
The successful candidate will help ensure that IT systems, digital learning platforms, and infrastructure operate reliably, securely, and efficiently for our staff and students.
The IT Technician will support the day-to-day operation of the College’s IT environment, including client devices, servers, classroom technologies, network infrastructure, cloud platforms, and user management systems.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
Positively support the Islamic ethos, values, and mission of Al-Ameen College.
Provide Level 1–3 technical support across the College (software, hardware, network, user accounts, device deployment, printing, telephony, and troubleshooting).
Assist with the administration of Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL, and cloud-based learning platforms.
Assist with configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of networking, Wi-Fi and security systems.
Contribute to backup, recovery, and business-continuity processes (e.g., Veeam).
Maintain skilled communication with staff, students, parents, and external service providers.
Handle all tasks with confidentiality, diligence, and a strong customer-service orientation.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications in Computer Science,
Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in an IT support role, ideally in an educational or diverse enterprise environment.
Demonstrated operational logic and management of Active Directory environments, including object hierarchies (users, groups, computers), Group Policy Application, and hybrid synchronization with Microsoft 365/Entra ID.
Strong understanding of Layer 1–3 network infrastructure, including physical patching, VLAN routing, subnets, switch port configurations, and wireless authentication using RADIUS.
Proven capability to logically diagnose physical and logical network connectivity across moved, reconfigured, or newly provisioned workspace hardware before escalating.
Solid analytical mindset with the ability to perform root-cause troubleshooting by evaluating systems event, and network logs.
We value authentic technical depth and practical expertise; candidates are expected to demonstrate genuine, hands-on problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues logically, calmly, and efficiently under pressure.
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with strict attention to detail.
Current WA driver licence.
Ability to obtain and hold a valid Working With Children Check.
