Associate Systems Engineer – Defence Capability Programs

As an Associate Systems Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to support the design, integration, and delivery of mission-critical defence systems. About the Role

As an Associate Systems Engineer, you'll support systems engineering activities across requirements development, system integration, testing, and verification. Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, you'll gain exposure to complex integrated platforms and learn how individual subsystems come together to deliver reliable and effective capability outcomes.

You will contribute to:

- Supporting system requirements development and management

- Assisting with system architecture, design, and technical analysis activities

- Supporting integration of hardware, software, communications, and platform subsystems

- Participating in verification, validation, and testing activities

- Contributing to technical reviews, documentation, and engineering governance processes

Key Responsibilities

- Support the development and management of system requirements and technical documentation

- Assist with system integration, test planning, verification, and validation activities

- Contribute to engineering activities across the systems engineering lifecycle

- Work collaboratively with software, hardware, project, and engineering teams





- Support technical investigations, risk assessments, and issue resolution

- Participate in engineering reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline

- Up to 2 years of experience in an engineering, technical, or project environment

- Understanding of systems engineering principles gained through study, internships, project work, or professional experience

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

- Australian citizen eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance
