Beltrame Civil is seeking experienced Final Trim Excavator Operators to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis for projects in metro Adelaide. This is a crucial position within our construction operations, where precision, skill and attention to detail are paramount. As a Final Trim Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for executing the final earthmoving and grading operations on construction sites, ensuring all work meets strict specifications and quality standards. This role is integral to the completion phase of our projects and directly impacts the success of our contract delivery.

About the role

We have immediate start available for skilled excavator operators with a strong civil background and experience in:

- Operating excavators (5 to 40 tonnes)

- Trenching for utilities

- Final trim pavements

- Detailed excavation

- Digging near services

- Both GPS and Non-GPS operation

The positions are full-time with overtime and after hours work as required.

Key responsibilities

- Operate excavators with precision to perform final trimming, trenching, grading and finishing work

- Maintain strict adherence to site specifications, drawings and quality standards throughout all operations

- Conduct pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on excavator equipment to ensure secure and efficient operation

- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate work activities

- Monitor ground conditions and adjust excavation techniques accordingly to achieve the required finish quality





- Operate equipment safely in compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and site-specific safety protocols

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on equipment performance and operational efficiency

What we're looking for

- Valid plant ticket for excavator operation

- Minimum 5 years' experience as a full-time excavator operator, with demonstrated expertise in final trim and detailed excavation

- Proven experience in civil construction works

- Strong understanding of construction site safety requirements and a commitment to zero-harm principles

- Current driver's license and willingness to work flexible hours as required by project schedules

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a quick-paced construction environment

- Physical fitness and capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving

- Experience with GPS-guided systems would be advantageous
