The Role
We are seeking a dynamic Remote Monitoring Technician whose approach aligns with our company values of Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration and Excellence. This role offers flexibility, the prospect to work within a caring and committed team of health care professionals as well as the chance to work with patients. Extensive on the job training is provided.
In this role, the successful candidate will:
- Integrate a knowledge base from physiology, pathophysiology and Cardiac device function to perform competent evaluations, diagnostic review and overall analysis through Remote Monitoring.
- Recognise abnormal functions of implantable Cardiac devices and recommend strategies to address and correct issues.
- Communicate with providers regarding Cardiac device function and diagnostic data through accurate, professional and standardised documentation.
- Communicate with patients for education of device function and monitor.
- Complete scheduling protocols for Remote Monitoring per best practice and guidelines.
- Assist the ECG department with Cardiac testing when necessary by performing Electrocardiograms (ECG's) and fitting Ambulatory ECG and Blood Pressure Monitors.
- Prepare patients for Exercise Stress testing under supervision.
- Assist in the download & basic testing of Pacemakers, Defibrillators and Loop Recorder devices at follow up and,
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and follow all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Protected Health Information (PHI) standards / protocol.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and efficient individual with an eye for detail and the ability to take on any task and successfully follow it through. The candidate will have a caring and friendly attitude towards both staff and patients.
In addition:
- Cardiac device management experience will be highly regarded.
- Experience with interrogating and interpreting device diagnostics for all 5 major manufacturers (Medtronic, Abbott / St Jude, Boston Scientific, Biotronik, MicroPort / Sorin) is preferred.
- Cardiac rhythm management industry training and industry experience is preferred and,
- A Bachelor’s or associate degree is desirable.
A Working with Children Clearance will be required as a condition of employment.
