The Opportunity
We’re looking for a part-time Marketing and Communications Officer to join the team in our East Perth office. This is a varied role where you’ll help to bring IBN’s work and impact to life through Member focused communications, digital content, and community engagement.
Working across social media, email, and website, you’ll assist with newsletters, promotional materials, stakeholder communications, and other content that helps our Members and community stay informed and connected.
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to coordinate communications that build awareness, drive participation, and support our programs and initiatives.

The Role
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of newsletters, reports, and promotional materials
- Support the management and updating of IBN’s website and social media channels
- Create engaging content for IBN’s digital channels and contribute to marketing campaigns, from development through to launch and delivery
- Maintain communications records, image libraries, and content archives
- Develop graphic design and promotional materials
- Assist with photography, videography, and content creation for events, programs, and community activities
- Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to help share our work and connect with our Members and community
The Requirements
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with people at all levels
- Well-developed organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and an interest in learning new software and systems
- Close attention to detail and a practical, organised approach to your work
- Ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal people and demonstrate an understanding of Aboriginal Australian cultures
- A genuine passion for making a difference
It Would Be Great If You Have
- A formal qualification in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector, community engagement, or Aboriginal organisations
- Experience with graphic design, photography, videography, or content creation
- Availability for occasional travel to the Pilbara region of Western Australia
