THE ROLE

The Domestic Violence Crisis Line (DVCL) is a telephone-based service for women and their children experiencing domestic and family violence. The Brief Intervention Service (BIS) is part of a pilot project within the Domestic Violence Crisis Line. The BIS case managers contribute to identifying safe pathways for victim-survivors out of emergency accommodation.

Reporting to the DVCL Program Manager, the Team Leader will lead the DVCL and BIS team to provide a specialist crisis response through comprehensive assessments and safety management for callers experiencing domestic or family violence.

We are currently seeking two part time Team Leaders working 0.8 FTE (60 hours per fortnight).

The successful candidate will work across a negotiated roster which includes days, afternoons and weekends, between a span of hours between 8am-11pm.

To succeed in these exciting and demanding roles you will need:





- Hold or be studying towards a degree level qualification in Social Work or hold a tertiary degree in a related discipline with commensurate experience with the position.
- Significant experience in the provision of crisis telephone counselling and/or case management within a complex and high-demand environment
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and safety management as it relates to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence;
- Understanding of the best practice approaches applicable when working with women and children experiencing domestic and family violence;
- Ability to make sound assessments of client needs and communicate these clearly to clients;
- Ability to motivate and facilitate a high level of team performance by providing positive leadership, management and supervision
- Must be able to work outside normal hours in an on call capacity as required
- A current full drivers licence, and be eligible for, or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance;
