St Mary's Anglican Girls' School is an independent day and boarding school for over 1500 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. We provide girls with opportunities to pursue personal and academic excellence in a respectful and supportive environment.
Applications are invited for the newly created position of Director of Sport Engagement. This exciting strategic leadership opportunity will shape the future direction of sport at St Mary's, fostering a culture where participation, wellbeing, leadership and excellence thrive.
Working collaboratively with staff, students, families, alumni, and external sporting partners, the Director of Sport Engagement will develop and implement a forward-thinking vision for sport across the School. Through meaningful engagement and strong partnerships, the successful applicant will cultivate an inspiring sporting culture that strengthens connection, wellbeing, and opportunities for girls to excel both on and off the field.
Reporting to the Dean of School Operations, the Director of Sport Engagement is responsible for:
- Strategic leadership for sport across Kindergarten to Year 12, driving participation, performance and wellbeing through innovative programs and exceptional sporting experiences
- Championing a thriving and future-focused sports program to maximise opportunities for every student to participate, develop and achieve
- Creating a vibrant and inclusive sporting culture
- Representing the St Mary's sporting community and leading the profile of sport at St Mary's through influential partnerships and engagement
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting sport coordinators, coaches and external providers to deliver high-quality sporting programs and experiences
This role is ideally suited to a visionary, innovative thinker who is an energetic and enthusiastic advocate for sport. Essential qualifications, skills and experiences include:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sports Management, Exercise Science, Physical Education or equivalent
- Proven leadership experience in sport, education or a related field
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative and influential leadership style with a student-centered focus
This position is an all-year round position that offers 6 weeks of annual leave each year. A Teaching qualification is not required for this position, however, experience leading girls' sporting programs and/or developing community sport programs and partnerships will be highly regarded.
