Payroll Lead | Standalone | 12 Month FTC (View to Permanent) | $130k + Super
The Payroll Agency has partnered with a small firm who is seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to take full ownership of an end-to-end fortnightly payroll for approximately 350 employees, processed via NetSuite. This is a standalone position reporting directly into the Finance Manager, ideal for a payroll professional who thrives working autonomously and wants genuine ownership of the function.
This role begins as a 12-month fixed term contract with a clear view to permanency for the right person as its a newly created role.
The Role
- End-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll for ~350 employees using NetSuite
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Modern Awards, the Fair Work Act, and all statutory obligations (PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax)
- Managing the full payroll cycle: new starters, terminations, leave, allowances, salary packaging, and STP reporting
- Reconciliations, month-end reporting,
and payroll journals in partnership with Finance
- Responding to employee payroll queries
- Driving process improvement and system optimisation within NetSuite
About You
- Strong hands-on NetSuite payroll experience is essential
- Solid working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and STP Phase 2
- Comfortable operating autonomously with robust ownership and accountability
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust across the business
- Available to commence on a 12-month FTC basis, with the intent of transitioning to permanent
