About the Opportunity

- Couple opportunity: Maintenance (Mechanical All-Rounder) & Caretaker

- Remote Kimberley conservation property (600,000+ hectares)

- Private accommodation, utilities and basic groceries provided

- Initial contract September to December 2026

- Applicants available into 2027 and beyond will be strongly preferred

Dunkeld Pastoral Co. is seeking a capable couple to join our Kimberley conservation operation. This prospect combines hands-on station work with meaningful conservation activities on a 600,000+ hectare property in one of Australia's most remote and ecologically significant landscapes.

While the initial contract runs from September to December 2026, we strongly prefer applicants interested in ongoing opportunities beyond this period.

The Roles

This opportunity comprises two separate full-time roles designed for a couple:

Maintenance (Mechanical All-Rounder)

- Maintain station vehicles, including LandCruisers, machinery and infrastructure

- Practical mechanical experience and equipment maintenance skills are essential

- General property maintenance, including fencing, tracks and buildings

- Support conservation programs, including fire management, weed control and feral animal control

- Previous conservation or land management experience is advantageous but not essential

Station Support (Caretaker / All-Rounder)

- Cleaning, housekeeping and simple meal preparation

- Gardening and grounds maintenance

- General station support duties

- Assist with conservation activities, including prescribed burning and weed control

- Caretaker salary circa $60,000 per annum plus superannuation

- Maintenance/Mechanical salary negotiable based on skills and experience

About You

- A couple with complementary skills and a team-oriented approach

- Physically fit, practical and self-reliant

- Comfortable living and working in a highly remote environment

- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute across all aspects of station life

- Valid driver's licence and Australian work rights

Please Note

- This is an extremely remote location with limited access to shops, services and recreational facilities

- Applicants should be comfortable living independently and adapting to remote station life

- A reliable personal 4WD vehicle is required to access the property

- Station vehicles and equipment are provided for work duties
