About the roleThe Specialist Advisor Target Qualifications – Teaching and Learning is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment practices that improve engagement, progression and completion for learners experiencing intersectional disadvantage within Target Qualifications.The role works in close partnership with the Education Delivery teams to redesign curriculum, delivery approaches and assessment practices to better support diverse learner needs – this includes strengthening educator capability, integrating evidence-based teaching strategies and ensuring qualifications are designed to enable learner success from commencement through to completion.This newly created role is perfect for an experienced educator who is passionate about helping other educators succeed, improving learner outcomes and shaping innovative approaches to education. You'll use your experience to influence teaching practice, support educator capability and lead initiatives that help learners experiencing disadvantage engage and thrive.

About YouYou are an experienced teacher who believes every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed.You’ll bring:A strong understanding of contemporary teaching, learning and assessment practicesExperience supporting learners experiencing disadvantage, particularly early school leaversExperience as a year level coordinatorKnowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion and trauma-informed approachesA passion for improving learner engagement, retention and successStrong coaching, mentoring and relationship building skillsThe ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholdersConfidence working autonomously and navigating complex educational challengesYou may currently be working in secondary education and are looking for a new challenge, but most importantly, you are excited by the opportunity to use your experience in a different way.You enjoy thinking strategically, encouraging others, solving problems and helping educators achieve their best work.
Qualifications and experienceBachelor Degree (or higher) in Education.Extensive senior-level experience in curriculum design, inclusive education, learner success, educational leadership or a related field.Extensive experience exceeding 5 years working in Secondary School and/or Vocational Education and Training sector is required.Experience directly working in roles providing specialist advice in teaching practice.Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives, projects or organisational improvement activities that improve learner participation, progression and completion outcomes.
Mandatory requirementsCurrent Drivers Licence as travel will be requiredCurrent Working with Children Clearance (WWWC) and satisfactory National Police Check or Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
