About the Role

The Administration Support Officer (ASO) under the direction of the General Manager (Support Services) and Coordinator provides effective administrative support to the organisation, primarily related to the Supports team, in line with Regional Housing policy and relevant operational and funding guidelines. The ASO is also primarily responsible, where required, to support other Administration Support Officers in other key areas of the organisation by assisting with or providing backfill in the provision of high-quality reception and associated duties.

As the first point of contact for customers visiting our office, the ASO plays a critical role in creating a welcoming, professional and safe environment. The role requires resilience, sound judgement and the ability to respond calmly and respectfully to individuals who may be experiencing crisis.

Selection Criteria





- Demonstrated ability to provide qualified administrative support and accurately maintain customer and agency records to multiple team members through administrative and organisational skills, relevant customer support or administrative experience, training and/or education

- Sound computing skills across the suite of Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of other systems

- Effective written and oral communication, and a demonstrated commitment to customer service through effective and empathetic people skills

- Demonstrated ability to provide professional, customer-focused and trauma-informed service to people experiencing vulnerability, distress or complex circumstances

- Demonstrated resilience and ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused when responding to challenging customer interactions, competing priorities and high-demand situations

- Demonstrated ability to self-motivate with effective time management in order to manage workloads, follow assigned priorities and adhere to deadlines

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team with integrity and professionalism

Primary Duties

- Provide high-quality administrative and customer service support, including reception, telephone enquiries,



appointment bookings, and correspondence management

- Act as the first point of contact for customers, visitors and stakeholders attending Regional Housing offices

- Respond appropriately to customers presenting with vulnerable or complex needs

- Maintain a calm, professional and respectful approach when managing challenging customer interactions and emotionally demanding situations

- Manage competing priorities and ensure compliance with legislation, relevant guidelines, and organisational policies.

- Participate in the identification of service improvements which contribute to the enhancement of service standards and customer outcomes

- Assist in the review of customer service documents and systems, and in the preparation of reports

- Assist with maintaining minimum levels of office stationery and marketing materials

Essential Criteria

- Holder of Australian Citizenship or full, unrestricted Australian work rights

- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check, Blue Card and Disability Worker Screening Clearance

- Current Queensland C-Class Driver Licence
