Ernest Henry Operations offers a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on the safety and performance of a world-class underground mine.
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing geotechnical risk, supporting underground stability and working closely with operational and technical teams to optimise mining outcomes. From underground inspections and geotechnical monitoring through to mine design reviews, seismic interpretation and ground support recommendations,



you'll enjoy a varied role with strong operational exposure and technical challenge.
Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll:
Monitor and manage geotechnical risks across underground operationsConduct underground inspections and geotechnical assessmentsCollect, analyse and interpret geotechnical and seismic dataReview excavation designs and ground support requirementsSupport mine planning and sequencing through geotechnical analysisContribute to audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring to us:
You're a motivated geotechnical engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while working closely with operational teams to deliver safe and sustainable mining outcomes.A tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering. Otherwise, a degree in Geological Engineering3-8 years' experience in mining geomechanics, underground mining or consultingExperience in underground or open pit miningKnowledge of rock mechanics, ground support systems and geotechnical monitoringExperience with geotechnical analysis software and mine planning toolsStrong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
