About Us
Polymetals (ASX: POL) acquired the Endeavor Mine in 2023 and formally took control in August 2024. Endeavor is a major underground silver/lead/zinc mine, located 40km north-west of Cobar in Central-West NSW. Since then, Polymetals has delivered an initial 10-year mine plan, secured two US $20million (A$30million) loan facilities, and has begun 24/7 concentrate production. It’s an exciting time for the Cobar region, with significant employment opportunities on the market for Endeavor Mine, one of Australia’s major base metals mines.
The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Emergency Services Officer to join our Health & Safety team. Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

- Respond to mine emergencies and incidents to provide the highest standard of pre-hospital care.
- Complete Drug and Alcohol testing as per Australian and company procedures.
- Conduct regular emergency drills for site and training sessions for mine emergency response team members and site personnel.
- Inspect and maintain operational emergency response equipment.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with mining teams to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification processes.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Completed OFA (Occupational First Aid) training.




- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue including underground competencies.
- Previous experience in emergency response, preferably in the mining or industrial sector.
- Current manual Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Certificate IV in Pre-Hospital Care is desirable.
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment is desirable.

- 8/6 roster and multiple residential subsidies.

DIDO – 7/7 roster:

- DIDO within NSW with travel allowance, accommodation and meals or meal allowance provided.

Cobar is a well-established mining town with shopping, education and health services and a range of recreation , social and sporting facilities. Cobar is only 3 hours drive from the major regional city of Dubbo. Cobar is very accessible to all the Eastern States capitals with daily flights between Cobar and Sydney and is within one days’ driving distance to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane
