Adelaide Hills Care Collective values respect, reliability, and genuine connection with the people it supports.Role Description This is a casual, in office role for an Experienced Disability Support Worker based in Mount Barker, SA. The Disability Support Worker will provide direct support to people with disability in their homes and the community, including assistance with personal care, meal preparation, medication support within guidelines, and daily living tasks. The role involves supporting participants to engage in social and recreational activities, attend appointments, and develop independent living and communication skills. The worker will follow individual support plans, maintain accurate documentation and progress notes, and contribute to risk management and safety procedures. The position requires collaboration with families, advocates, and health professionals, promoting respectful communication, safeguarding,
and continuous improvement in service delivery.Qualifications Demonstrated experience in disability support, community services, or allied health, ideally working with people with diverse support needs.Relevant qualification such as Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, or a related field (or working toward completion).Sound knowledge of person-centered practice, active support, and rights-based, trauma-informed approaches to disability support.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust, manage boundaries, and work effectively with participants, families, and colleagues.Ability to maintain accurate records, follow support plans, and adhere to policies, procedures, and NDIS Practice Standards.Capacity to support personal care, manual handling, and household tasks safely, with attention to infection control and workplace health and safety.Experience supporting positive behavior and emotional wellbeing, including following behavior support plans and de-escalation strategies where required.Current First Aid and CPR certification, NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain), and valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.Willingness to work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, in line with participant needs.Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and culturally safe practice, including respectful support of people from different cultural, linguistic, and gender backgrounds.
