What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Technical Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while learning from experienced professionals across the site.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Support safe and reliable operations by ensuring work is carried out in line with QAL’s health, safety, environmental and community standards.
- Build your technical expertise by developing a strong understanding of the QAL Bayer process, plant systems, operational procedures and protected work practices.
- Make an impact through improvement by identifying and developing innovative ideas that improve safety, performance, efficiency and reliability across the site.
- Use your engineering skills to solve problems by assisting with the review and analysis of real-time performance across key process areas.
- Get involved in major projects by providing technical input during the engineering and commissioning phases of capital projects.
- Contribute to planned maintenance and outages by helping develop and implement process strategies that support safe, efficient and successful equipment outages.
You’ll Bring:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a closely related discipline, recently completed or due to be completed by December 2026.
- A strong commitment to safety, with a genuine focus on looking after yourself and your team.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work with people across different areas of the business.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills, with the curiosity to ask questions and initiate improvement ideas to the existing systems
- A process-focused mindset and enthusiasm for improving efficiency, performance and reliability.
