About Us
Polymetals (ASX: POL) acquired the Endeavor Mine in 2023 and formally took control in August 2024. Endeavor is a major underground silver/lead/zinc mine, located 40km north-west of Cobar in Central-West NSW. Since then, Polymetals has delivered an initial 10-year mine plan, secured two US $20million (A$30million) loan facilities, and has begun 24/7 concentrate production. It’s an exciting time for the Cobar region, with significant employment opportunities on the market for Endeavor Mine, one of Australia’s major base metals mines.
The Role
We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Officer to join our Health & Safety team at Endeavor Mine. Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, this is a hands-on site-based role supporting the day-to-day delivery of health and safety activities across our underground mining operations.
Working closely with operational teams, you will have a strong field presence and support risk management, incident investigations, workplace inspections, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives. You will provide practical support to supervisors and employees, follow safety actions through to completion and contribute to maintaining a strong and consistent safety culture across site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace inspections, safety observations and field interactions across site.
- Support risk assessments and hazard identification activities with operational teams.
- Participate in incident and near-miss investigations and assist with identifying corrective actions.
- Monitor and follow up H&S; actions through to completion.
- Support site compliance activities, audits and inspections.
- Maintain accurate H&S; records, registers and reporting requirements.
- Assist with safety training, inductions, toolbox talks and other safety communications.
- Provide practical support to supervisors and employees on routine H&S; matters.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and emergency response requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety practices, systems and processes across site.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or a relevant H&S; qualification.
- Previous Health & Safety experience within mining, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management principles and safe work practices.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage effectively with employees and supervisors in the field.
- Positive organisational skills with the ability to manage actions, records and competing priorities.
- Current unrestricted manual Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Occupational First Aid qualification (desirable).
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue, including underground competencies (desirable).

Residential – Cobar
- 8/6 roster.
- Residential allowance.

- 8/6 roster.
- DIDO arrangements available within NSW.

- Company-provided accommodation and meals or applicable meal allowance while on roster.
