Senior Chef de Partie / Junior Sous Chef

Lunetta Trattoria is looking for an experienced chef to join our kitchen team, working alongside Executive Chef Tristan Rebbettes and Head Chef Will Moyle.

We’re deliberately keeping the position flexible. For the right applicant, this could be a Senior Chef de Partie role or an opportunity to step into a Junior Sous Chef position, depending on your experience, capability and readiness to take on greater responsibility.

Lunetta Trattoria is the energetic, Italian-inspired sibling to hatted restaurant Lunetta, located within Canberra’s iconic Red Hill modernist building. Our food is produce-driven, generous and grounded in Italian cooking, with a strong focus on quality ingredients, making as much as possible in-house and cooking over fire.

The role

Working closely with Tristan, Will and the senior kitchen team, you will:

- Run and take ownership of a section at a high standard

- Assist with preparation, service and daily kitchen operations

- Maintain consistency, organisation and presentation

- Support and develop junior chefs

- Contribute to a professional, respectful and well-organised kitchen environment

- Assist with ordering, stock control and kitchen systems where appropriate

- For a Junior Sous appointment, take on additional leadership responsibilities and help oversee services when required

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has solid experience in a quality restaurant kitchen

- Is confident running a busy section independently





- Has strong organisation and attention to detail

- Works calmly and consistently during service

- Takes pride in their food and their workplace

- Communicates well and contributes positively to the team

- Is interested in Italian food and produce-driven cooking

- Wants to continue developing as a chef and take on greater responsibility

You do not need to already be a Sous Chef. If you're a strong CDP ready to take the next step, this is an opportunity to develop into a leadership role while working closely with two experienced senior chefs.

Equally, if you're an established Senior CDP looking for a quality kitchen and professional environment without necessarily chasing a management title, we'd be happy to shape the position around the right person.
