The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a major Defence project in South Australia.
This chance offers ongoing work, excellent earning potential, and the chance to work alongside highly skilled tradespeople on complex mechanical systems in a secure Defence environment.

Employment Type: Casual
Project Duration: Minimum 3 months, with opportunities to extend up to 12 months.
FIFO arrangements are available for suitable candidates living in regional South Australia or interstate.

What/'s On Offer
Roster
- Monday to Friday
- 8.44-hour days
- Overtime available on weekdays and weekends
Pay
- $47.03 - $61.14 per hour (depending on skills and experience - as per our enterprise agreement)
- Plus Superannuation
- $40 per day Client Site Allowance
For Eligible FIFO Employees
- Flights provided
- Accommodation fully supplied
- Transport to and from site provided
- Paid travel time (4 hours each way at ordinary rates)
- Living Away From Home Allowance of $89 per day (capped at $341 per week)
- Return flights home every four weeks for the weekend
About the Role
Working within a highly skilled mechanical team, you/'ll undertake the installation, maintenance, overhaul and repair of critical mechanical equipment supporting Australia/'s Defence capability. You/'ll work to the highest standards of safety, quality and precision within a regulated Defence environment, helping deliver projects that directly support the Australian Defence industry.
About You
You/'ll be a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working as part of a professional, high-performing team.
You/'ll Have
- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)
- Experience in mechanical installation, maintenance and overhaul
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with pumps, valves, compressors, gearboxes, rotating equipment and piping systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Experience with precision fitting and mechanical alignment
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Current Australian Driver/'s Licence
