AF Motors Pty Ltd, located in Punchbowl, New South Wales, is an established automotive company specialising in vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs. The company has been operating in the Australian market since May 2018 and has over 8 years of experience in the industry.
Due to the growing demand for skilled automotive services, the company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team and contribute to the quality and efficiency of our vehicle maintenance and repair operations.
Position Overview
AF Motors Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic for a permanent, full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining light vehicles, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Detects and diagnoses mechanical and electrical faults in engines, vehicle systems and components.
* Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other mechanical components.
* Inspect, test and assess vehicle parts to identify worn, damaged or defective components.
* Repair and replace worn or defective parts and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
* Refer to service manuals, technical information and manufacturer specifications when required.
* Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups and general vehicle servicing.
* Reassemble engines and mechanical components following repairs.
* Test and adjust repaired mechanical components to ensure correct operation and performance.
* Use diagnostic computers and specialised equipment to diagnose and test vehicle systems and components.
* Inspect vehicles and identify repairs or maintenance required to ensure roadworthiness.
* Complete all work in accordance with relevant safety, environmental and vehicle standards.
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
* Work collaboratively with other team members and relevant supervisors.
* May respond to vehicle breakdown and roadside service calls when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in light vehicle mechanical repairs and maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
* Experience with vehicle diagnostics and computerised diagnostic equipment.
* Knowledge of engine, transmission, steering, braking and other vehicle systems.
* Ability to diagnose faults accurately and efficiently.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
* Excellent time management and communication skills.
* Current Australian driver’s licence preferred.
* Experience inspecting vehicles for roadworthiness is desirable.
* Applicants must be living in Australia.
