Senior Project Engineer – Process Engineering

Design | Testing | Commissioning | Complex Engineering Projects

An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join an established engineering business delivering technically challenging projects across a range of industrial environments.

This is a hands-on engineering position where you'll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from design and equipment selection through to testing, commissioning and final handover.

The Role

You will take ownership of the technical delivery of projects and work closely with internal engineering teams, clients, suppliers and contractors.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Process and mechanical design across engineering projects

- Developing and reviewing P&IDs;, process flow diagrams and technical documentation

- Completing process calculations and equipment selection

- Reviewing engineering drawings and designs

- Preparing technical specifications and project documentation

- Working closely with mechanical, electrical, controls and drafting teams

- Supporting fabrication and construction activities

- Factory and site acceptance testing

- Site commissioning and troubleshooting

- Performance testing and optimisation

- Managing technical issues throughout project delivery

- Liaising directly with clients, suppliers and contractors

- Supporting project handover and operator training





- Ensuring engineering work meets relevant safety, quality and technical standards

About You

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys being involved beyond the design stage and wants to see their projects through to completion.

Ideally, you will have:

- Degree qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar

- Experience as a Senior Project Engineer, Project Engineer, Process Engineer or Commissioning Engineer

- Robust process engineering and technical design capability

- Experience with P&IDs; and process design

- Experience taking projects through design, testing and commissioning

- Strong equipment selection and troubleshooting capability

- Confidence working on site during commissioning

- Strong communication and client-facing skills

- Experience within industrial, manufacturing, resources, infrastructure or related project environments
