About the role

Lawrences Motor Group is seeking an experienced Automotive Parts Interpreter to join our team in Kawana, QLD 4701. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our automotive operations, serving as the vital link between our customers, service departments and parts inventory. As an Automotive Parts Interpreter, you will be responsible for accurately identifying, locating and supplying the correct automotive components to ensure our business operates smoothly and our customers receive the right parts first time, every time. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and efficiency in the automotive trades sector.

Key responsibilities

1. Identify and interpret customer requirements and vehicle specifications to determine the correct automotive parts needed

2. Utilise parts catalogues, computer systems and technical databases to locate and source parts efficiently

3. Communicate with customers, service advisors and technicians to clarify part specifications and confirm compatibility

4. Prepare accurate parts orders and maintain detailed records of transactions

5. Manage parts inventory and stock levels, ensuring availability of commonly used components

6. Provide expert advice to customers and internal staff regarding part selection, quality and compatibility

7. Resolve parts-related issues and coordinate replacements or returns as necessary

8. Maintain knowledge of current vehicle models, makes and engine specifications

9. Process orders promptly and ensure timely delivery of parts to meet service department deadlines

What we're looking for

1.



Proven experience working as an Automotive Parts Interpreter or in a similar parts supply role within the automotive industry

2. Strong knowledge of vehicle makes, models, engine specifications and automotive components

3. Proficiency with parts management software and computer systems commonly used in automotive retail

4. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately interpret technical specifications and documentation

5. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with customers and internal teams

6. Problem-solving ability with a methodical approach to identifying correct parts and resolving discrepancies

7. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple part requests simultaneously

8. Physical capability to handle automotive parts and components safely

9. A genuine passion for the automotive industry and customer service excellence

10. Preferred: Experience with specific parts cataloguing systems or knowledge of aftermarket and OEM parts suppliers
