About the role
The Trainer & Assessor is responsible for delivering engaging practical and theory-based training, assessing learner competency, supporting student progression, and maintaining high standards of compliance, quality, and industry relevance within our training college.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver units of competency within HLT52021 and/or SHB50121 according to our delivery schedule.
- Conduct assessment, make and record assessment judgements, and maintain assessment evidence in accordance with the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.
- Supervise students in the student clinic, including the supervised clinical practice component of HLT52021.
- Deliver face-to-face practical and theory training in remedial massage programs, including diploma-level delivery where applicable.
- Conduct fair, valid, reliable, and timely assessment of student competency in accordance with training package and RTO requirements.
- Provide constructive feedback and academic support to help students achieve strong learning outcomes and job-readiness.
- Maintain accurate training, assessment, attendance, and student progress records using our systems and documentation standards.
- Supervise practical classes and, where required, student clinic activities in a safe and professional learning environment.
- Contribute to validation, moderation, continuous improvement, and training resource review activities, according to our procedures.
- Work collaboratively with academic, compliance, and student support teams to deliver a high-quality student experience.
About you
- Current TAE40122 or TAE 40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Current and relevant qualification in the teaching area, including Diploma of Remedial Massage or higher.
- Minimum 5 years of recent industry experience in remedial massage or closely related clinical practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current remedial massage techniques, client care standards, and skilled practice expectations.
- Ability to deliver both practical and theory-based vocational training and assessment.
- Strong communication, learner engagement, classroom management, and mentoring capability.
- Sound digital literacy, including confidence using LMS and student management systems.
- Valid Australian work rights.
