Social Media Lead

You've watched women's basketball grow and wanted to be part of it.
You will run the League's digital presence across every platform and lead a team of two who are ready to do their best work.

This is a current role. You will set the strategy, build the standard, and shape what WNBL social becomes as the competition keeps growing.

About Us

Founded in 1981, The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is Australia's longest running elite female national competition. The League features eight clubs across Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and Queensland.

The Role

You're across the WNBL's social presence, day to day and game to game.

- Own the WNBL's social strategy across every platform
- Lead and develop a team of two content producers
- Produce platform specific content that builds real fandom
- Run game day coverage from pre game through to full time
- Deliver commercial content that partners actually value
- Represent social in planning with broadcast and partnerships
- Report performance and results to the Head of Social Media

Who We're Looking For

You have a good sense for what content works, and you use data to back that up rather than just going on instinct.

- Deep experience across major social platforms
- Led or managed a team before
- Robust grasp of algorithms and what content travels
- Experience with sponsor or commercial content
- Genuine following of women's basketball
