About the role

We're seeking an experienced Intermediate / Senior Accountant to join our growing team. You'll manage a varied portfolio of clients and be involved across all aspects of business services, taxation and compliance. This is a hands-on role with significant client interaction. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, deal directly with clients and the ATO, and further develop your technical skills.The level of responsibility will be tailored to your experience - whether you're a strong Intermediate Accountant looking to progress, or an experienced Senior Accountant seeking greater client exposure and responsibility.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

- Prepare and review BAS and IAS

- Assist with Division 7A, FBT, CGT and other taxation matters

- Prepare and maintain depreciation schedules and general ledger reconciliations

- Liaise directly with clients regarding taxation and accounting matters

- Liaise with the ATO and ASIC on behalf of clients

- Assist clients with Xero and general accounting queries

- Payroll assistance

- Administrative tasks

- Manage your own workflow and ensure client deadlines and lodgement obligations are met

- Prepare professional client correspondence and respond to day-to-day client queries

About you

- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm

- Strong experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

- Experience preparing BAS and IAS





- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation

- Experience using Xero, with Xero Practice Manager experience highly regarded

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence dealing directly with clients

- Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills

- Ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines

- Ability to work from our Drummoyne office full time

- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of your work
