The Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Surveyor with a strong background in concrete, earthworks, and infrastructure projects to join our team.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working independently on site, managing set-out, QA, and machine control requirements, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set-out for earthworks, concrete structures, and civil infrastructure
- Machine control setup, calibration, and troubleshooting
- GNSS-based surveying for bulk earthworks and general site works
- Operation of Leica Total Stations (TS) for detailed set-out and as-builts
- Conduct as-built surveys and QA reporting
- Liaise with site engineers, supervisors, and plant operators
- Ensure all work complies with project specifications and tolerances
- Maintain survey equipment and QHSE compliance
About You
- Proven experience in civil construction environments (earthworks, concrete, infrastructure)
- Minimum 2-3 years of civil construction surveying experience required
- Strong competency with:
- GNSS systems
- Machine control (Trimble, Leica or Topcon)
- Leica Total Stations
- Basic to intermediate CAD skills (e.g. Civil 3D, AutoCAD or similar) to process and prepare survey data, including demonstrated proficiency in CAD data processing and editing capabilities
- Ability to work autonomously on site and manage priorities
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
- White Card (essential)
Highly Regarded
- Previous FIFO or remote site experience
- Relevant qualifications in Surveying or equivalent experience
- Candidates with equivalent practical experience will be considered in lieu of formal surveying qualifications
