ANZUK Executive is proud to partner with Pembroke School in the search for an outstanding Head of Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning (ELC - Year 12.
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the Head of Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning (ELC-12) is a teaching and leadership position with responsibility for the strategic direction, delivery and continuous improvement of programs across the School. The role carries an active teaching allocation, which may be delivered through camp programs or in the classroom, and forms part of the Learning Leadership Team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the Head of Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning (ELC-12) provides strategic leadership and active teaching, driving the delivery and continuous improvement of programs across the School as a key member of the Learning Leadership Team.
This is a highly visible leadership position responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a clear strategic vision for Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning across ELC-12
- Leading curriculum, teaching practice and program development in alignment with Pembroke's educational philosophies
- Overseeing the planning and delivery of camps, expeditions and other Outdoor Education experiences
- Leading, coaching and developing Outdoor Education teaching and support staff
- Maintaining robust risk management, safety, emergency planning and incident review frameworks
- Working with the Deputy Principal, Heads of Sub-Schools and the Site Manager of Pembroke’s Old Watulunga Environmental Education Centre on the Finniss River to strengthen programs, staffing and use of resources
- Contributing to whole-School strategy as a member of the Learning Leadership Team
About You
The successful candidate will bring:
- Current teacher registration in South Australia (or eligibility to obtain registration) and a relevant tertiary qualification
- Demonstrated Outdoor Education and/or Experiential Learning experience, with the capacity to lead curriculum, teaching practice and student engagement
- Proven experience leading, developing and managing staff
- Strong knowledge of contemporary Outdoor Education philosophy, pedagogy and student wellbeing
- Expertise in outdoor activity risk management and regulatory compliance, alongside strong strategic, organisational, communication and change leadership skills l
