Bella Venezia is part of the Bella Venezia Group, operating two award-winning Sunshine Coast restaurants:

- Bella Venezia Restaurant – modern Italian dining in central Mooloolaba

- Fish House Steak & Grill – a premium seafood and steak restaurant on Mooloolaba Spit

We are seeking an experienced, polished and highly personable Restaurant Host / Maître d’ to join our front-of-house team, with opportunities available across both venues.

About the Role

This is an important guest-facing position and, in many cases, you will be the first and last point of contact our guests have with the restaurant.

You will be responsible for creating a warm and professional arrival experience, managing reservations and table allocations, coordinating closely with the restaurant floor team and ensuring the front door operates smoothly throughout service.

This is not simply a reception role.

The successful applicant will be an experienced hospitality professional who is comfortable assisting on the restaurant floor when required and understands the pace, standards and attention to detail expected within a premium dining environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Welcoming and farewelling guests in a warm, polished and professional manner

- Managing reservations, arrivals, waitlists and table allocations

- Using restaurant reservation systems confidently and accurately





- Communicating guest information and special requirements to the floor team

- Coordinating table flow with restaurant managers and section waiters

- Answering guest enquiries and assisting with reservation-related requests

- Maintaining an exceptionally presented entrance and reception area

- Assisting with restaurant service when required

- Carrying multiple plates confidently, including a three-plate carry

- Carrying and serving from a drinks/glass tray

- Maintaining calm, professional communication during busy services

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience as a Restaurant Host, Maître d’, Section Waiter or senior front-of-house team member

- Experience working in a busy, premium or fine-dining restaurant setting

- Previous experience using a restaurant reservation platform such as SevenRooms, OpenTable or a comparable system – essential

- Strong restaurant service skills, including confident three-plate carrying

- Confidence carrying and working from a glass or beverage tray

- Outstanding communication and guest-engagement skills

- Exceptional attention to detail

- The ability to remain organised and composed during high-volume services

- A naturally warm, welcoming and professional manner

- Personal presentation of the highest standard





- Strong computer and administrative skills

- A genuine understanding of premium hospitality and guest service

Availability

We are particularly interested in applicants with open availability, including:

- Weekdays

- Weekends

- Friday and Saturday evenings

- Peak holiday and trading periods

Applicants with strong weekend evening availability will be highly regarded.
