A small accounting and consulting firm, based in Melbourne CBD, provides business consultancy, taxation, and accounting services to a diverse range of small to medium businesses. Due to significant growth, we are seeking a qualified, motivated, and experienced accountant to join our team to assist in maintaining accurate accounting/bookkeeping records for our clients

About the Role:

You will be responsible the following:
Preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns
Reviewing Xero & excel files processed by our bookkeepers, including general Ledger, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations, towards BAS & ITR preparation
Supporting payroll administration and ensuring accurate employee payment records
Prepare and lodge income tax returns, BAS/IAS, and other statutory obligations.
Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Liaise with Clients, ASIC and ATO.

Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience in Financials preparation and Tax (Required)
Degree in commerce &/ or accountancy
CA/CPA qualified or working towards it.
Proficient accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
Be highly organised, show initiative,



and having a solid sense of urgency and work responsiveness
Able to deal with high pressure environment
Experience with Accounting Software including XERO, MYOB, QuickBooks is an advantage
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Working in Melbourne CBD
Experience in preparation of financial in Xero (Preferred)
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and accounting standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
