Vitelli's in Surry Hills is seeking a Casual Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This temporary role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs in delivering high-quality dishes, ensuring that our guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to
Support the team during service periods to ensure timely delivery of meals
Help with stock management and inventory control
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen setting, preferably in a commis chef role or similar
Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques




Ability to work in a quick-paced workplace and under pressure
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
