Aussie Switchboards is one of Queensland's leading switchboard manufacturers, and we're looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead our fabrication department.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while developing a skilled team.

About the Role

You will lead a team operating our fabrication equipment, including:
CNC Turret/Laser
CNC Press Brakes
MIG & TIG Welding
Assembly and General Fabrication

You'll work closely with Engineering, Powder Coating, Electrical, and Dispatch to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop the fabrication team.
Plan daily workflow and allocate labour efficiently.
Ensure production targets and delivery deadlines are achieved.
Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship.
Drive a strong safety culture throughout the department.
Train apprentices and upskill team members.
Improve workshop efficiency and eliminate production bottlenecks.
Monitor machine utilisation and minimise downtime.
Ensure equipment is maintained and operators follow procedures.
Promote accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For




Trade qualification in Sheet Metal or Fabrication.
Previous experience supervising or leading a fabrication team.
Robust knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
Experience with CNC turret, laser and press brake operations.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
A proactive leader who leads by example.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
