Experience in the criminal justice environment including the interpretation and application of legislation, policy and practice directives in an operational environment or similar work experience that demonstrates the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
Demonstrated assessment and case management experience, working with a diverse and complex client base within a human services field.
Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to prepare high quality objective, analytical reports.
Well-developed and skilled verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse client group and to effectively communicate with stakeholders in a manner appropriate to the audience.




Confidence and demonstrated experience in applying professional discretion, reasoning, judgement and decision-making skills prior to seeking management validation.
Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and adaptable in work practices in response to shifting priorities and the practicalities or working within a correctional setting.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues relevant to the over-representation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in custody.
Proven ability to build and manage strong relationships with peers, team members, internal and external stakeholders.
