Jade Court Chinese Restaurant is a well-established family-owned Chinese restaurant located in Cottesloe, Western Australia. We specialise in authentic Cantonese cuisine and offer dine-in, takeaway and online ordering services.

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of Chinese and Cantonese dishes, maintaining consistent food quality, and assisting with the smooth daily operation of the kitchen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook and present Chinese and Cantonese dishes to a high standard;
Plan and organise food preparation and cooking activities;
Assist with menu planning and dish development where required;
Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control;
Estimate food and labour requirements and assist with ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies;
Check freshness and quality of ingredients before preparation;
Supervise and guide kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands;
Train junior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen procedures;
Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards;




Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen workplace;
Work effectively during busy service periods, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Skills and Experience Required:
Relevant qualification in commercial cookery or hospitality is preferred;
At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen role;
Experience in Chinese cuisine, Cantonese cuisine or Asian cuisine is highly regarded;
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations;
Ability to work under pressure in a rapid-paced restaurant environment;
Good organisational and time management skills;
Ability to communicate in Mandarin or Cantonese is highly regarded;
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff;
Robust understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
