Commercial Business Development Manager – Lighting (Sydney)About Space is looking for an experienced Commercial Business Development Manager to grow our commercial presence.This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key market, develop valuable industry relationships and deliver distinctive lighting solutions across commercial projects.Working with architects, interior designers, builders, developers, contractors, wholesalers and other project stakeholders, you will identify new opportunities and manage them from initial engagement and specification through to quotation, negotiation, delivery and completion.This role will suit an experienced business development skilled who understands project-based sales, builds genuine long-term relationships and knows how to turn opportunities into commercially successful outcomes.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGDeveloping new business across the NSW architecture, design, construction and development marketsBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with architects, designers, builders, developers, contractors, wholesalers and other project stakeholdersIdentifying project, specification, partnership and strategic account opportunitiesManaging and growing a portfolio of commercial clientsWorking with clients to develop lighting solutions that balance design intent, technical requirements, budget, margin and lead timesManaging opportunities from initial engagement through to quotation, negotiation, delivery and project completionMaintaining a qualified sales pipeline and providing accurate forecasts and reportingRepresenting About Space at client meetings, presentations, networking opportunities and industry eventsCollaborating with our design, sourcing, estimating, manufacturing, logistics and operations teams to deliver successful project outcomesStaying informed about market activity, industry trends,



emerging technologies and competitor offeringsABOUT YOUYou are an experienced and commercially minded business development professional with a proven ability to generate new business, develop strategic relationships and convert complex opportunities.You understand how commercial projects progress from design and specification through procurement, construction and delivery.
You are confident engaging with different stakeholders and can develop solutions that consider both the creative vision and commercial realities of a project.You will ideally bring:At least four years' experience in business development, specification sales or account managementExperience within lighting, architecture and design, interiors, construction, electrical, furniture, building products or a related industryEstablished relationships within the NSW architecture, design, construction or development communityA demonstrated ability to manage and grow a substantial commercial portfolioStrong commercial acumen, including pricing, margin, negotiation and forecastingExperience managing complex opportunities with multiple stakeholders and extended sales cyclesStrong presentation, communication and relationship-building skillsConfidence using CRM systems to manage pipeline and client informationA proactive, solutions-focused approach and solid attention to detailABOUT USAbout Space is a proudly Australian lighting company with a growing national presence.
