Operational LeadershipLead daily machining and assembly operations to achieve production targetsDevelop and execute production schedules in alignment with planning requirementsMonitor workflow, capacity, and labour allocation to optimise outputDrive solid On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) performance2.
Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop Supervisors and Team LeadersBuild a culture of accountability,
engagement, and continuous improvementManage workforce planning, training, and performance management processesMaintain strong cross-department communication and collaboration3.
Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with WHS legislation and company safety standardsPromote a proactive and visible safety cultureLead incident investigations and implement corrective actions4.
Quality ManagementEnsure product quality meets company and customer standardsReduce rework and waste through improved process control and capability developmentPartner with Quality teams to address defects and drive improvement initiatives5.
Continuous ImprovementLead lean manufacturing initiatives and process optimisation projectsImprove productivity, labour utilisation, and operational efficiencyMonitor KPIs and implement corrective actions where required6.
Cost Control & PerformanceManage labour budgets and production costsImprove cost-per-unit performanceContribute to capital investment planning and equipment upgrades7.
Cross-Functional CoordinationLiaise with Planning, Procurement, and Sales to ensure production alignmentCoordinate with Maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliabilityKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Delivery In Full On-Time (DIFOT)Labour productivity & efficiencyCost per unitRework ratesSafety performance (LTIFR / incidents)Staff engagement & retentionOutput vs. planSkills & ExperienceMinimum 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing leadership roleProven experience managing large production teams (75+ employees)Strong background in fabrication, machining, or assembly operationsExperience in aluminium manufacturing or similar industry highly desirableDemonstrated leadership and people management capabilityStrong understanding of lean manufacturing principlesSolid financial acumen and cost management capabilityExcellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skillsQualificationsTrade qualification or engineering background preferredCertificate IV or Diploma in Leadership, Manufacturing, or Operations (desirable)
