A Senior UI Lead position is available within a highly collaborative product and engineering team responsible for building and evolving a portfolio of customer-facing and internal applications.The team is seeking a senior, mature leader to take ownership of the UI domain, uplift quality, and provide clear technical direction across both new and existing platforms.You will lead the UI team, actively shaping how interfaces are designed and implemented, while coordinating and delegating work across the group.
You will refine and build upon an existing UI foundation, ensuring a consistent, high-quality look and feel across all applications.This is a strategic role rather than a short-term delivery position.
You will play a key part in influencing technical direction, contributing to design discussions, and ensuring the UI layer effectively supports both customer-facing systems and internal monitoring tools.You will work closely with developers and stakeholders across the business, balancing leadership, design and hands‐on delivery within a collaborative engineering setting.This is a hands‐on position, with approximately 40 per cent of your time spent coding, depending on project workload.
At times this may increase if you are directly aligned to specific initiatives.
The remainder of your time will focus on design, team leadership, coordination of work, and some administrative responsibilities.The role is Perth based, with a hybrid mode including a regular work-from-home day on Thursdays, with flexibility to swap this when required.You Should Have10+ years of commercial software development experience, with flexibility for the right candidateDemonstrated leadership experience,
including mentoring or managing other developersStrong experience in React and Next.js (minimum two years)Proven ability to contribute to design discussions and guide technical directionA collaborative, outcomes-focused working styleAbility to balance leadership responsibilities with hands‐on developmentTechnical RequirementsMust haveNext.js (at least two years)Nice to haveTeam and Reporting StructureYou will manage two mid-level UI developers, each with approximately five to six years' experience.You will report directly to the Head of Technology.
