We are looking for someone who can get stuck in, use common sense, work with their hands and help wherever needed.The role is a mixture of yard work, workshop labouring, forklift driving and assisting our fabricators.
No two days will necessarily be the same.What you'll be doingForklift driving, loading and unloading trucksMoving steel, equipment and materials around the workshop and yardAssisting welders and fabricatorsGrinding, cutting, drilling and general preparation workUsing hand tools and power toolsCleaning and preparing steel and componentsGeneral workshop labouringKeeping the yard and workshop organisedPacking, loading and preparing jobsHelping with whatever needs to be done to keep the workshop movingWe're looking for someone who isPractical and mechanically mindedPhysically fit and comfortable with hands-on workReliable and turns up every day ready to workAble to work independently without needing constant supervisionWilling to learn and take on different jobsComfortable working in a busy workshop and yard environmentAble to see something that needs doing and just get on with itLooking for a secure, long-term positionEnjoys working with a teamIdeally you'll haveForklift licenceExperience working in a workshop, yard, steel, fabrication, construction, mechanical or similar environmentExperience using grinders, drills, saws and other workshop toolsBasic fabrication or welding knowledge would be an advantageDriver's licenceYou do not need to be a qualified fabricator.
