You will be preparing, cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods on time that are suitable for children aged 4monthsto 6 years for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, including the preparation of purees and special dietary mealsWe are searching for someone who is passionate about food, nutrition and creating meaningful experiences , someone who wants the opportunity to make a genuine impact in the lives of children while sharing their skills and knowledge with our educators and learning community.At Ashton's Place Immersive Learners, our Chef is an important part of our educational journey.
Through our Little Chefs Program, you will have the unique prospect to step beyond the kitchen and work alongside our children and educators, turning food and cooking into powerful opportunities for learning.This opportunity is minimum 25 hour per week over 5 daysAbout your new roleYou will engage in menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines, including catering for children with allergy, intolerance and religious requirements;You will working in line with budgets and local suppliersYou will maintain a clean and safe kitchen,



in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements.About youCertificate III in Commercial Cookery preferred but not essentialCurrent food handling certificate or willingness to obtainCurrent blue card, approved first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma qualificationsExperience with menu planning and nutritionPrevious experience running a kitchen, cooking in childcare or similar catering environmentYou will be a reliable, positive and a well organised personYou will have excellent time management skills and be confident in managing a kitchenYou will provide a barista service to families (on the job training will be provided if necessary)You will provide weekly cooking lessons to the children in their classroom settingsYou will enjoy working with families, colleagues and childrenWhat we can offer youAbove award wages, rewarding your excellence!
