Together with the development of Jericho, Eloise forms an important part of AIC Mines' growth strategy.This is an opportunity to join a close-knit operational team focused on safety, teamwork, performance and continuous improvement.About the position:AIC Mines is hiring an experienced Underground Shift Supervisor with robust leadership skills and extensive knowledge of production activities.Reporting to the Mine Superintendent, the Underground Shift Supervisor is accountable for ensuring the safety of underground personnel and overseeing day to day operations in the underground mine.
This position requires effective planning, supervision, leadership and a strong emphasis on prioritising safety and maintaining high-quality work standards.The core responsibilities of this position include:Supervise and lead the day to day underground production activitiesFull understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures and work in accordance with the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act and RegulationsConduct daily pre shift meetingsBring and maintain a high standard of workAbility to plan and co-ordinate mining equipment and activitiesCapable of adhering to a continuous 2/2 roster, including day and night shifts.Sufficient knowledge to make sound decisions when encountering changed conditionsWork in with contracted partnersMaintain a professional and courteous relationship with employees, business partners and Local Land HoldersThis is a permanent, full time, FIFO role from Brisbane or Townsville ***** day shift and ***** night shift roster.
Local candidates from Cloncurry or surrounding communities can commute via bus from Cloncurry and are encouraged to apply.About You:Preferred minimum 5 years experience as an Underground Shift Supervisor, is desirable but not a necessity.Experience in sublevel caving and open stope methods is desirable but not a necessity.Ability to effectively prioritise work loadsAbility to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environmentEffective and respectful communication skillsKnowledge of the QLD Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act and RegulationsLeading and mentoring crewManual QLD driver's licenseHold a high regard for safety by following safe working practices and proceduresQSEC explosives CardAIC Mines is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone is treated fairly and respectfully.
