Adelaide or Melbourne | Defence IndustryCleared Recruitment is supporting an Australian-owned technology organisation operating within the Defence and national security sector, as they continue to grow their engineering capability across Australia.We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with strong C/C++ skills to join a highly technical team developing advanced technology for complex operational environments.This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects involving communications, RF technologies and embedded systems.The OpportunityWorking as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to the development of embedded software and systems that sit at the intersection of software, electronics and communications technology.You'll be involved in a mix of new development, integration and problem solving, with the opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle.Depending on your experience, your work may include:Developing embedded software using C and C++Working with embedded Linux environmentsDeveloping real-time software for communications and signal-processing applicationsIntegrating software with hardware and other embedded systemsDesigning and implementing software interfaces and communications protocolsDebugging and optimising software running on embedded platformsWorking closely with hardware, FPGA, RF and systems engineersSupporting integration,
testing and verificationContributing to the design and development of new technologies and prototypesInvestigating complex technical problems and developing practical solutionsAbout YouWe're looking for engineers who enjoy working on difficult technical problems and are comfortable operating in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.You'll ideally bring:2+ years' experience in embedded software developmentStrong C/C++ programming experienceExperience working with embedded systemsExperience with Linux, ideally embedded LinuxAn understanding of real-time software conceptsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsA degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related disciplineExperience with any of the following would be advantageous:RF or communications technologyDigital signal processingElectronic WarfareFPGA or hardware/software integrationEmbedded networking and communicationsARM-based systemsPython, MATLAB or similar engineering toolsDefence or other highly regulated technology environmentsMost importantly, we're looking for someone who is technically curious, enjoys learning and wants to work close to the technology.Why This Chance?
