Qualified Carpenter – Modular Home ConstructionFull-Time | Bridgewater, TasmaniaJoin the Podmatrix TeamPodmatrix is a fast-growing, Tasmanian-owned and operated company specialising in the off-site construction of modular homes.Based in Bridgewater, we build everything from compact backyard studios through to family homes and custom modular projects, providing a smarter, faster and more flexible alternative to traditional construction.About the RoleThis is a full-time Carpenter position primarily based at our Bridgewater facility, working as part of a team-oriented team constructing high-quality modular homes and units.The role incorporates both structural and finishing carpentry, giving you the prospect to be involved across multiple stages of the construction process.Day-to-day duties will include:Structural and finish carpentry on modular homes and unitsReading and interpreting construction plans, drawings and specificationsMeasuring, cutting and assembling framing and structural componentsInstalling doors, trims, cabinetry, fixtures and fittingsCarrying out construction, assembly and alteration of buildings, structures and joinerySafely operating hand and power tools appropriate to your training and experienceWorking collaboratively with supervisors, carpenters and other tradesEnsuring workmanship meets required quality and building standardsFollowing WHS requirements, safe work procedures and site requirements at all timesMaintaining a clean,
organised and safe work areaSupporting the team to achieve project deadlines and efficient deliveryAbout YouWe're looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship and can contribute positively to a team environment.To be successful, you will ideally have:Certificate III in CarpentryResidential construction experienceStrong framing and general carpentry skillsExperience in finish carpentryConfidence using hand and power tools safely and efficientlyAbility to read and interpret construction plans and project documentationSound understanding of construction materials and terminologyKnowledge of Australian building standards and construction practicesStrong focus on safety, quality and attention to detailGood communication and teamwork skillsReliability, organisation and the ability to work independently when requiredGood physical fitness and ability to undertake the manual requirements of the roleWhite CardCurrent driver's licence – manual preferred but not essentialExperience in modular or off-site construction would be advantageous; however, it is not essential.What We OfferFull-time employment with a growing Tasmanian businessConsistent work in the expanding modular construction industryGreat working conditionsA supportive and collaborative team environmentVaried carpentry work across different stages of constructionOpportunities for professional growth and developmentA workplace with a strong focus on safety, quality and workmanship
