Disability Support Worker – Complex & High Care NeedsDisability Support Worker – Complex & High Care NeedsLocation: StrathfieldShift Schedule:24/7 rotating roster, including morning, evening, and night shifts (active and sleepover).
Job Type: CasualPay Rate: SCHADS Award Level 2 Pay Point 1 + 25% casual loadingWhile this is a casual position, you may be scheduled for regular ongoing shifts to support work/life balance, with the potential to move into a permanent role.Required Skills & Experience:Relevant health and/or clinical experience: Following multiple care plans involving complex medication administration, insulin administration, dietary plans and modifications, complex wound care, and chronic disease management.Minimum 1 year of experience supporting individuals with Dementia, Cerebral Palsy, mental health and psychosocial disabilitiesMinimum 1 year of hands‐on experience supporting individuals under Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), with an understanding of Restrictive Practices (RPs) and their applicationExperience using manual handling equipment such as hoists and slide sheetsWillingness and confidence to provide personal care and support with daily living activitiesFlexibility to work across a variety of shifts, including overnight and sleepover shiftsRequired Documents & Certifications:Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Aged Care, or related) or higherCurrent First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009)Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)Current National Police Check with clearance to work with vulnerable persons/people with disabilityNDIS Worker Orientation Module ("Quality, Safety and You") (or willingness to complete prior to commencement)Our PurposeOur purpose is to make a positive difference in all the lives we touch.

You will receive attractive remuneration and opportunities for accelerated career development.About the RoleAs a member of our SIL Care Team, you will support participants with complex, high care needs, including dementia/Alzheimer's, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, psychosocial disability, and physical support needs (which may include bed-bound care).
You will work under the direction of our SIL Manager and Team Leader, providing support that aligns with each participant's goals and care plan.Your role includes, but not limited to:Supporting participants in their daily routines, including personal care, supervision, and social engagement using person-centred communication and routinesSupporting participant independence through community engagement and individualised programsAdministering medication safely in line with care plans and clinical guidelinesProviding manual handling support (e.g., hoists, slide sheets)Implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and applying Restrictive Practices (RPs) correctly where relevantIdentifying and reporting hazards to maintain a safe environmentMaintaining accurate progress notes and incident reportsCommunicating effectively with participants, families, and staff to meet individual needs and goalsCollaborating with allied health professionals for coordinated careParticipating in ongoing training to build complex care skillsMaintaining confidentiality and respecting participants' privacy and dignityStrong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills; ability to work autonomously and in a teamHigh attention to detail with administrative and documentation tasksGenuine commitment to person-centred, active support and the rights of people with disabilityCalm, resilient approach to managing complex or stressful situationsAustralian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
