We're hiring multiple casual team members to join us as we prepare for the busy summer season.To make the most of the season, you'll ideally commit for at least six months , including the Christmas and New Year period.Staff accommodation is available and couple applications are welcome.What you'll do:You'll have the opportunity to work in one or more of our unique food and beverage venues, each offering a distinct guest experience:View 42 Restaurant & Lounge Bar is a popular dining destination known for its hearty breakfast and dinner buffets, attracting tour groups and larger bookings.
The adjoining Lounge Bar offers premium cocktails, Tasmanian wines and small plates.Hamer's Bar & Bistro is a relaxed and welcoming venue serving classic pub and bistro favourites, alongside a selection of local Tasmanian wines, beers and spirits.
Popular with both guests and locals, it's known for its genuine hospitality and laid-back West Coast charm.The Kitchen Cafe is a casual all-day dining venue offering barista-made coffee, light meals and convenient grab-and-go options.
With its friendly atmosphere and relaxed setting, it's a favourite spot for guests to start their day or enjoy a leisurely lunch.No matter which venue you're working in, you'll produce high-quality food, uphold food safety and presentation standards, and contribute to the smooth operation of a busy kitchen.
During peak periods, you'll confidently multitask, work efficiently as part of a team and maintain high service standards in a fast-paced workplace.On a daily basis your tasks will include, but are not limited to:Undertake general or specialised cooking, baking, pastry cooking or butchering duties, as required to a high standardMonitor the hygiene of food preparation areas and equipmentUnder the direction of the Head or Executive Chef,
you will be responsible for kitchen management including portion and stock control and for the supervision and training of other kitchen staff.What you'll bring:Formal qualifications in commercial cookeryPossess a Do Food Safely Certificate of completionSignificant hands-on experience in kitchen operations with a clear understanding of the logistics of restaurants and functions cateringPrevious experience of modern Australian cookingA passion for your trade and for creating and presenting contemporary dishes using local produceDemonstrated excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated computer literacy, particularly with common office applicationsThe ability to work productively in a fast-paced, buzzing work environment, dealing with a high volume of covers in a short period of timeFlexible attitude to work hours over a 7 day roster, including weekends and public holidaysWhat's in it for you:At the NRMA we aren't just about discounts (although you do get these too).
