Working across Blacktown City, you help care for trees, garden beds, landscaped areas and local parks while learning the horticulture trade through hands-on experience and formal training.As an Apprentice Gardener, you work alongside qualified tradespeople carrying out tree planting and maintenance, park maintenance, nursery operations and minor landscaping works.
You use a range of tools and equipment, learn safe work practices and apply the skills you develop through your Certificate III in Parks and Gardens and day-to-day work activities.The work you do helps create safe, attractive and well-maintained public spaces for residents and visitors.
Every planted tree, maintained park and landscaped area contributes to the presentation, sustainability and liveability of Blacktown City, giving you the opportunity to see the results of your work in the community.This is a paid 4-year apprenticeship.
During the first 3 years, you complete a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens while receiving on-the-job training.
Your fourth year focuses on practical experience.
Throughout the apprenticeship, experienced supervisors and qualified tradespeople support your development as you build the skills and experience for a career in horticulture and greenspace services.This role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, is willing to learn,
