We are a growing Civil Construction business seeking a commercially minded Assistant Accountant to join our in-house finance team.The Assistant Accountant will report directly to the CFO and business owners, whilst overseeing the day-to-day work of our bookkeeper/data-entry function.Ideal candidate will have experience in construction industry, including subcontractor and supplier accounts, progress claims, retentions and project-related costs.Key responsibilitiesPayroll specialist, fully competent in Xero and ideally AssignerAssisting Management and Financial AccountantsEnd-of-month accounting processes including journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, etcTax compliance obligations including preparing BASAssist with monthly financial/management reportingAssist with managing fixed assetsPossible exposure to budgeting/forecastsQualifications and ExperienceRecently completed CPA or CA qualifications or close to completionExperience in working with accounting software XeroPrevious experience with Assigner is preferredIntermediate skills in Excel including pivot tables, lookups
