Procurement Advisor - Local Government | 6 Month Contract6-month contract with potential extension | 35 hours per weekPrevious Local Government procurement experience is essentialMcArthur is currently seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor for an initial six-month temporary assignment with a well-established Local Government organisation in Sydney's North Shore.Working within the Procurement and Contracts function, this position will provide hands‐on procurement, tendering and contract support across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have previous Local Government procurement experience and be confident managing procurement activities in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements.Key responsibilities will include:Supporting the delivery of end-to-end procurement activities, including RFQs, tenders and expressions of interestPreparing and reviewing tender and contract documentationFacilitating tender evaluation and probity processesParticipating in tender evaluation committees and assisting with recommendationsSupporting contract preparation, administration and ongoing contract trackingProviding procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholdersAssisting with supplier and vendor negotiationsEstablishing and maintaining preferred supplier arrangementsMaintaining accurate procurement records, reporting and performance informationSupporting the continuous improvement of procurement systems,
processes and templatesProviding guidance and training to staff on procurement, tendering and contract management processesSupporting purchasing, supplier and stores-related activities as requiredTo be considered, you will require:Previous procurement experience within Local Government - essentialDemonstrated experience preparing and managing tenders, RFQs and contractsSound knowledge of Local Government procurement processes, governance and legislative requirementsExperience participating in tender evaluation and supplier selection processesStrong understanding of contract administration and commercial negotiationDemonstrated stakeholder engagement and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneouslyA current Class C driver's licenceRelevant procurement, contracting or equivalent qualifications and/or substantial relevant experienceExperience using platforms such as Tenderlink, VendorPanel, eTendering or similar procurement systems will be highly regarded.The opportunityThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Local Government procurement professional seeking a six-month contract with the potential for extension.
