Position Information
Moorebank High School is a dynamic partially selective and comprehensive high school situated in southwest Sydney.
The school has 998 students with 1% of students from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background and 78% of students from a language background other than English.
In ****, Moorebank High School established a support unit with three autism support classes and will implement a multi-categorical class in ****.
The school is committed to extending its students through excellence in teaching and learning and collaboration with its partner primary schools and other comprehensive and selective high schools.

Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach students with autism (secondary) and mild intellectual disability (secondary) and demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience in meeting the complex and diverse needs of students, including those with complex behaviours, through effective and responsive teaching and support practices.
Demonstrated ability to design and teach high-quality, differentiated programs, informed by Personalised Learning and Support Plans, to meet the diverse learning needs of all students in a multi-stage setting.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with proven capacity to establish and maintain effective partnerships with students, staff,
parents and external agencies to support the implementation of a new multi-categorical class and achieve positive outcomes for students
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching chance.
