About the Role
The role involves working closely and collaboratively with site-based roles, estimating and new business teams
Managing, planning and coordinating the design management process on commercial construction projects to establish and satisfy the needs of the Client, stakeholders and the project from a Main Contractor perspective
Achieving all project specific commercial and contractual objectives
Creative design solutions consistent with program, cost and quality requirements to achieve the functional brief of the project
Providing leadership with humility, that inspires, motivates and engages people
Requirements
A highly experienced Design Manager with minimum of 7 years experience within a Main Contractor and demonstrated experience working on commercial projects in excess of $300m.
You will have the desire, skills and experience to step into a role within a top-tier builder to manage project design through design phase and construction delivery phase to ensure design brief compliance
You will provide recommendations on the selection and appointment of design consultants to ensure that new business procurement and project delivery objectives are achieved




Demonstrable abilities to manage design teams to ensure successful completion of required documentation in accordance with the design program milestones, and that Commercial objectives, Budget, and High standard documentation are achieved
In conjunction with the Estimating Manager and project delivery team, you will ensure that the design outcomes are cost-planned to maximise the commercial return for the business
Ensure that all matters which may affect WHSE are considered during the design phase, to ensure safe construction and operation practices
