Responsibilities
n

Lead and manage a team of 4-5 data scientists, providing technical guidance, mentorship and career development to foster a high-performing and engaged team.
n
Drive the development of modelling and optimisation solutions that deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
n
Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, enterprise-grade software that embeds data science capabilities into core business systems.
n
Collaborate with stakeholders to align data science initiatives with business priorities, demonstrating commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
n
Champion best practices in model development, deployment, and monitoring (MLOps), ensuring robustness and accuracy.
n
Work with team and stakeholders to ensure timelines are met by balancing scope, team capacity and business needs.
n
Facilitate continuous improvement in the team's ways of working.

You'll Have
n
n
Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. Master's or PhD) or equivalent experience in data science, econometrics,
engineering, mathematics, statistics, or applied physics.
n
At least 2 years' experience managing data science teams and delivering complex projects with significant business impact.
n
Expertise in statistical modelling, time series forecasting, optimisation and causal inference.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
n
Demonstrated commercial acumen, with a track record of translating data science insights into strategic business decisions.
n
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles and production-grade development.
n
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms e.g. Amazon AWS.
n
Experience managing the full model lifecycle, including training, validation, deployment, and performance monitoring.
