About the Company
An opportunity exists for an experienced Production Manager to join a leading Australian manufacturing business on an interim basis.
This is a critical leadership role requiring an experienced manufacturing professional who can quickly integrate into the operation, provide stability, drive performance and ensure production targets are consistently achieved.
This position will suit a hands-on leader with extensive experience operating within complex, high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environments.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Site Leadership Team, you will be responsible for leading production operations, managing frontline leadership teams and ensuring the site delivers against safety, quality, cost and service objectives.
You will be expected to quickly assess operational challenges, implement practical solutions and maintain strong performance across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily production operations across a large manufacturing facility
Drive operational performance, productivity and labour efficiency
Manage and develop supervisors, team leaders and production teams
Ensure manufacturing targets are achieved safely and consistently
Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks and production issues
Champion a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance standards are maintained
Monitor and report on key operational KPIs
Support continuous improvement initiatives across people, process and performance
Collaborate with maintenance, quality, planning and supply chain functions
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
10+ years' experience in manufacturing leadership positions
Proven success managing production within a 24/7 manufacturing environment
Robust experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Site Leader
Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance and deliver results under pressure
Experience leading medium to large manufacturing teams
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to quickly build credibility and influence
Experience gained within FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, building products, industrial manufacturing, consumer goods or other high-volume manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
